What is a Mullet Haircut

Saturday, March 5th, 2011

There are very few haircuts that have been given as much attention as the mullet. This once popular hairstyle, however, has experienced a small resurgence in some communities around the world, but is still largely unpopular. Today, this specific style is at the root of many jokes and there have even been books, calendars, and websites dedicated to it. If you have a mullet, it means that your hair is short at the front, short on the sides, and longer in the back. In some cases, the front may be somewhat longer than the sides. However, the back always contains the longest hair.

The first people to have mullets actually had them back in the 1960s. However, this was not the era in which the hairstyle really took off. The 1980s were definitely the time of the mullet. The mullets that were around in the 80s were markedly bigger than other mullets. These mullets featured very long hair in the back and the hair at the front of the head was also quite long. Many people would dye their mullets and tease the front so that it would stick straight up. Many people say that this was the ear of the bouffant mullet.

The mullet was also around in the 1990s. During this time, it was toned down, but still featured very long hair in the back. The most popular mullet of this time was the tail mullet, which featured a tail at the back, which was sometimes curled or permed. Many famous people have had mullets. Some of these people include Tom Jones, David Bowie, and Billy Ray Cyrus. Today, some famous people still have mullets, including both men and women. However, these mullets are a little different from the mullets of the past and do not include shaved down sides.

Beautiful hair is a plus point for any woman. It is an indication of your health and individuality. There are some women who are gifted with naturally beautiful hair whereas some others have to really work hard on getting and maintaining attractive hair. If taken care of properly, your hair can add to your beauty. There are a number of factors that can lead to hair breakage. A hair brush is one of the very necessary items for getting beautiful hair. If you hold the brush by placing your fingers just above the metal section of the handle, you will get the most natural-looking streak-free blush application. This position will also give you the most control. Moreover, the length of your hair and the style you want are the major factors that depend on the size of the brush you need.

When combing wet hair, detangle it from end to root using a big tooth comb. For those with short hair, a Paddington brush with soft protective bristles is perfect for giving a sought after look. For medium length straight hair, make use of a Paddle Brush with soft protective bristles as this will aid you comb out and blow dry your hair. An extra large round brush is ideal for medium length wavy bobs to blow out the curls and kinks. In the case of longhair, utilize a thick, loose toothed brush or a big round ceramic brush to help you blow dry you long hair straight. If you need to be a little sassy with the same brush, flip the ends out. Use a pick if you want to tease your hair for a little height. In the case of plastic combs, they have sharp-edged teeth and this can break or damage the hair. So always try to opt for a wide toothed comb made of horn, hard rubber, tortoise shell, or even wood. Choose a brush with natural bristles as this would cause the least damage. In addition, a brush with a wooden or light rubber handle will give you a close and tight grip. Always wash your brush after the use.
